The 2012 Firefighter 1 Academy has started!

The PVFPD kicked off it’s fourth Firefighter 1 academy on January 7th. 19 students in all are attending the class with 2 of those being from our neighbors to the North in Galeton. The recruits will be going through 5 months of intensive hands on and lecture type training. They will cover firefighter safety, building construction, hose and nozzles, search and rescue, and ladders to name a few. This is the largest recruit class that we have had since starting our own academy. The instructors are excited to see what this group of recruits can do for our community and surrounding area!
